Urinary Tract Infection – UTI and it’s remedies

More than 50 percent of women will develop a UTI and UTI symptoms in their lifetimes, and because antibiotics are the most common conventional treatment for UTIs, bacteria have become antibiotic-resistant and recurring infections are a major concern.  Doctors take undue advantage of this disease.  When a woman goes with this problem, they are asked to take several lab tests and several times.  Finally a physician will be referred to and he will prescribe a medication which will give temporary relief.

For this reason, it’s important to use home remedies for UTIs that eliminate bacteria completely and reduce the risk of developing recurrent urinary tract infections.

Remedies

  • Drink plenty of water
  • Cranberry fruit. You can eat it just like that. You can also soak one cup of cranberries in one glass of water over night and put this in a juicer. Add one tea spoon of lemon pieces into it. Juice them together. Add honey to get some taste and drink 3-4 glasses of juice every day at frequent intervals. You decide the frequency.
  • In one glass of water add 1 tsp of baking soda and drink. This will give you relief from the pain. It helps in faster recovery.
  • Give heat fomentation on the belly
  • Put two table spoons of Coriander Seeds in water and heat it. Mix one spoon of rock candy. Have 2-3 times a day. If rock candy is not available, drink without it.
  • Cut one ginger into slices, add 1 tea spoon of sesame seeds and grind it well in mix. Add very little water to make it a paste. Remove the paste from the Mixi and put it in a bowl. Then add half a tea spoon of turmeric and mix it well. Add honey if you want taste else even without honey it’s fine. Have 2-3 spoons every day.
  • Take a glass of luke warm water, add one tea spoon of Apple cider vinegar mix it well and drink 2-3 times a day.
  • Take three cardamom and grind it to make it powder. Mix this with one glass of cow’s milk and drink before going to bed.

Basil Leaves

Basil contains antibacterial properties and antifungal properties. It is considered one of the best remedies to treat vaginal itching and burning.

  • Add a handful of basil leaves into 2 cups of water.
  • Bring the mixture to boil and remove from the flame.
  • Let it cool down and strain it.
  • Rinse your vagina with this solution.
  • Repeat the process 2 times in a day.

Boric Acid

Boric acid contains antiseptic and antifungal properties which provide relief from vaginal itching, burning and other discomforts.

  • Add small amounts of boric acid into enough amounts of water.
  • Apply the solution over the affected area.
  • Leave the application for 1 – 2 minutes.
  • Rinse it off with warm water.
  • Repeat the process once in a day for 2 weeks.

Honey

Honey contains antibacterial and antifungal properties which help to get rid of any microbial infection causing vaginal itching.

  • Slather a layer of honey on the vagina.
  • Leave it on for 30 minutes.
  • Rinse off the application with lukewarm water.
  • Repeat the process 2 times in a day.

Garlic

The allicin present in garlic possesses antibacterial and antibiotic properties which kill the yeast causing the itching and other discomforts. Eating 3 garlic cloves in a day helps to boost the immune system and help our body fight infections effectively.

  • Combine few drops of garlic oil and 1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil.
  • Apply the mixture on the vagina and leave it on for 10 minutes.
  • Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
  • Repeat this process 2 times in a day.

Yogurt

The good microflora present in yogurt colonize the vagina and control bad bacterial growth. The soothing effects of yogurt provide quick relief from vaginal itching and burning.

  • Dip a tampon in yogurt.
  • Insert it into the vagina.
  • Leave it for 2 hours and remove it.
  • Rinse with water and pat dry completely.
  • Repeat this process 2 times in a day.
